Starting in the Universal Optical Department, on Close Encounters of the Third Kind, Bladerunner, Star Trek The Motion Picture, and Brainstorm. David moved from there to Industrial Light & Magic working on Star Wars Return of the Jedi, Star Trek II - Wrath of Khan, and Willow. Leaving visual effects, he switched to the live-action world working as an assistant cameraman on several television shows, and feature films. He reentered visual effects to work on The Hunt For Red October as a motion control operator and continued doing miniatures as a DP for on Dante's Peak, and all three Lord of the Rings. He’s currently directing short films and planning to direct his first feature-length film soon.
